NUVEEN
Extension of a logistics building
BACKGROUND
Nuveen is one of the world's largest asset managers with a strategy of investing in the logistics sector in France and Europe.
In 2018, on behalf of one of its funds under management, Nuveen acquired an asset of around 44,000 m2 operated by GXO, via a long-term lease, on behalf of Electro Dépôt.
THE PROJECT
After carrying out the preliminary design studies (CEP) to check that the client's intentions were in line with the project's constraints, OpenBox Co Design&Build carried out the extension to the logistics building.
Located on the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille (GPMM) site at Fos-sur-Mer, the logistics base originally comprised seven cells (43,000 m2) and offices (900 m2).
Two cells of 6,000 sq.m each have been added, bringing the total surface area of the building to almost 56,000 sq.m.
The work was carried out on an active site. Part of the work was carried out at night to minimise disruption to the operator: a real challenge met by our teams and the contractors involved.
THE VALUE
The project is part of our Co Design&Build offering and has generated savings that will be shared between OpenBox and Nuveen.
